Policies & Service Terms For Clear Jobs
Clear, simple, and transparent. These policies help keep every Handy Jack job smooth, predictable, and professional. They explain how estimates, photos, pricing, deposits, service areas, free scrap pickup, and final scope confirmation work.
Pricing Policy
- Pricing is based on ZIP/service area, job type, load size, material type, access, labor, disposal, and photos.
- Public pricing ranges and online estimates are guide pricing, not guaranteed final prices.
- Final price is confirmed before loading begins.
- Heavier materials such as construction debris, dirt, concrete, tile, brick, shingles, and dense loads may require weight-based or custom pricing.
- Stairs, long carry distance, blocked access, extra labor, disassembly, or unusual job conditions may affect pricing.
- We do not use hidden fees. Any price change is explained before work begins.
Estimate & Quote Policy
- Estimates are based on customer-provided details, selected service lane, ZIP code, job description, and photos.
- If job details are missing, incomplete, or inaccurate, the final price may change.
- Online quote ranges are meant to help customers understand likely pricing before the job is reviewed.
- A quote ID may be used to match form submissions, photos, text messages, and booking details.
- A job is not considered fully confirmed until Handy Jack verifies the service area, scope, access, and schedule.
Photo & Quote ID Policy
- Customers are encouraged to text clear photos before booking.
- Photos should show the full load, room, pile, access path, stairs, driveway, curbside location, and any heavy or special items.
- If the customer already has a quote ID, it should be included with the photos.
- Photos help reduce confusion, underpricing, and unnecessary on-site changes.
- Photo review does not replace final on-site scope confirmation.
Free Scrap Metal Pickup Policy
Free scrap metal pickup only applies to qualifying straight scrap metal. Free scrap pickup is not the same as free junk removal.
May Qualify
- Washers and dryers
- Metal shelving
- Metal bed frames
- Grills
- Metal racks and pipes
- Metal-only piles
- Non-refrigerated metal appliances
Does Not Qualify
- Refrigerators and freezers
- AC units or refrigerant items
- Mixed junk loads
- Furniture and mattresses
- Trash bags or dump material
- Hazardous or restricted material
Mixed loads follow standard junk removal pricing. Handy Jack may decline, reclassify, or quote the job differently if the load is not true scrap metal.
Service Lane & Reclassification Policy
- Handy Jack may reclassify a job if the selected service lane does not match the actual job.
- If free scrap is selected but the load includes furniture, trash, mattresses, or mixed junk, the job becomes standard junk removal.
- If a few-item pickup is selected but the job is actually a room, garage, storage unit, or property cleanout, cleanout pricing may apply.
- If construction debris is heavier or denser than described, the price may require review before loading.
- Reclassification is explained before work begins.
Scope Change Policy
- Final price may change if the load size differs from the submitted details or photos.
- Additional items added on-site may increase the final price.
- Blocked access, stairs, long carry distance, extra labor, heavy material, or different disposal needs may affect the price.
- If the job is smaller or easier than expected, Handy Jack may confirm a lower or simpler price when appropriate.
- Any change is confirmed before loading begins.
Manual Review & Service Area Policy
- Some ZIP codes and outer routes require manual confirmation before booking.
- Manual-review estimates are not locked bookings until Handy Jack confirms availability, route fit, and job scope.
- Outer service areas may include travel, scheduling, or minimum adjustments.
- Same-day service may not be available in all areas.
Deposits
- Larger jobs, long-distance runs, cleanouts, same-day priority, commercial jobs, manual-review routes, or peak-day bookings may require a deposit.
- Deposits are applied directly to the final invoice or balance.
- Deposits help hold scheduling time, routing capacity, and labor availability.
- Deposits may be non-refundable if the customer cancels within 24 hours of the appointment.
- If Handy Jack must cancel or cannot perform the work due to our own scheduling issue, deposit handling will be reviewed fairly.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment incur no cancellation fee.
- Cancellations within 24 hours may result in a cancellation charge or deposit forfeiture.
- No-shows may be charged a minimum service fee.
- If the customer is unavailable, access is blocked, or the job is not ready, Handy Jack may reschedule or apply a trip/cancellation charge.
Access Requirements
- Customer must provide safe access to the junk, cleanout, or pickup area.
- Driveways, gates, stairways, hallways, elevators, and loading paths must be accessible.
- Customer should notify Handy Jack about stairs, upstairs units, long carry distance, tight spaces, elevators, parking restrictions, or gated entry before arrival.
- If access is blocked, unsafe, or different than described, Handy Jack may reschedule or adjust pricing.
- Customers should keep pets, children, and bystanders clear of the work area.
