Estimator Definitions

Service Area ZIP
The ZIP code where the job will take place. This confirms whether the location is inside the Handy Jack service area and determines the minimum service level for that location.

Dispatch Zone
Dispatch zones represent travel distance from the Handy Jack service base. Locations farther away may have higher minimum service levels due to travel time and fuel.

Minimum Service Price
Every job must meet the minimum service level for the selected ZIP code. This covers travel, labor, equipment, and disposal handling.

Build Load
This step allows you to add individual items or estimate a junk pile so the system can calculate trailer space and pricing.

Pile Estimate
Used when items are grouped together in a pile. The estimator converts the approximate pile size into trailer space and estimated pricing.

Add Specific Items
Selecting individual items allows the estimator to calculate the load more accurately using typical volume values for each item.

Quick Area Estimate
A shortcut that estimates common clean-out situations such as a garage cleanout, bedroom furniture removal, or yard debris pile.

Loading Conditions
Describes how difficult it is to move the items. Indoor removal, stairs, or long carry distances increase labor time and may adjust the estimate.

Trailer Capacity
The Handy Jack trailer holds approximately 200 cubic feet of material (roughly a 10ร—5ร—4 trailer). All estimates are calculated against this capacity.

Trailer Fill Percentage
Shows how much of the trailer the load will occupy. This helps estimate how large the job is.

Job Type
The estimator automatically classifies the job based on the items selected and the total load size.

Crew Size
Estimated number of workers required to safely complete the job.

Estimated Time
Approximate service time based on volume and loading conditions.

Subtotal
The combined estimated price of the items or pile entered before discounts or adjustments.

Volume Discount
Larger loads may qualify for reduced per-volume pricing depending on trailer fill percentage.

Total Estimate
The final estimated service price based on the items entered, loading conditions, and service zone minimum.

Confidence Level
Indicates how reliable the estimate is based on the information entered. Adding more detailed items typically increases accuracy.

Lock Estimate
Locks the calculated estimate for approximately 90 minutes while availability and scheduling are reviewed.

Estimate ID
A unique reference number generated when an estimate is locked. This ID helps track and reference the estimate during scheduling.

Confirm Estimate & Schedule
Submits the job details and opens the scheduling system to select a service time.
